Open PowerShell
Start menu → type "PowerShell" → right-click → Run as administrator

Paste the command and press Enter
The installer closes Office apps, wipes cached add-ins, removes older AdvisorXLS versions, and registers the latest.

Launch Excel
The AdvisorXLS tab appears in the ribbon. Sign in and you’re ready to go.

What does the script do under the hood?
- Closes Excel and other Office apps so their caches aren’t held open.
- Clears every Office add-in cache (Wef, WebView2, OfficeFileCache, TokenBroker).
- Removes any previously sideloaded AdvisorXLS version — clean slate every time.
- Downloads the latest manifest from
marketxls.s3.amazonaws.com/scripts/advisorxls-manifest.xml. - Registers it under
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\WEF\Developer(Windows) or the Office container (Mac). - Runs a connectivity check against
marketxls.comand reports any failing URLs.
Troubleshooting
“Running scripts is disabled” on Windows
Paste this into the same PowerShell window first, then retry the installer:
Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope Process -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Force
AdvisorXLS tab doesn’t appear
Close Excel completely (check Task Manager for stray
EXCEL.EXE), wait 10 seconds, re-open. If still missing, re-run the installer.Still stuck?
