Operating Gains Losses (Historical)
Returns historical operating gains or losses for a company. These are gains or losses from operating activities that are not part of core business operations, such as gains/losses on asset sales or other operating adjustments.

Common Issues & FAQ
Why do some companies have large operating gains?
Large operating gains often come from selling business units or significant assets. GE, for example, had large gains from selling various divisions.
Should I exclude these from analysis?
For trend analysis, it's often better to exclude large one-time operating gains/losses to see underlying business performance.
Why am I getting "NA"?
Many companies have minimal operating gains/losses in most periods. This field may be empty or zero.
