This screener filters out businesses whose net profit margin over the last year is greater than the annualized growth of the net profit margin of the last five years. Increasing net profit margin, expressed as a percentage, reveals that increasing profit is being made for every $1 in sales after all costs associated with generating those revenues have been considered. Therefore, more significant profit margins imply that a larger portion of each sales dollar is retained as profit.
