Trying to figure out the option symbol methodology for barchart functions (i.e. rt_Bid). Does not appear to use the same symbols as the yahoo linked functions.

As an example, could someone give me the symbol for GNL Aug 18 2017 Puts $20 Strike?

    Hi Tom,

Can you make the symbols like below and try?

I tried these exact symbols, rt_Bid, rt_Ask, rt_Last all returned NA... assume this is because they expired 2014.

Assume based on the attachment, GNL Aug 18 2017 Puts $20 Strike = GNLT18174200000.... this returns NA as well.

Also, not sure what the 9th digit in my symbol represents (the 4). Perhaps this is the wrong symbol.. appreciate any further input.

    Any word on this?

Also, with the update this morning to move from dev server to prod server... rt_Bid, rt_Ask, rt_Last are all returning blank cells for equities now. You can disregard this - Equities are now feeding correctly! Still need guidance on the options. Cheers.

    Hi Tom,

Sorry for the delay, looks like Barchart updated their API recently. I will send an email now and confirm the symbology.

    Thanks

    Hi Tom,

I checked with Barchart. The options are not available with the client that we are using with barchart. I am working with Barchart to fix the situation. Sorry for the delay and inconvenience.

    Kind regards
    Ankur

Meanwhile, I would recommend if you could use the option functions available by default...

But I am sorting this for you with barchart and will update shortly.

    Kind regards

    Hi Tom,

I have now added the new Advanced Barchart Option functions in a new development release. I will send you this shortly. This will require a
monthly subscription from Barchart. I am negotiating the price right now to the best possible.
