can not update to v 8.0.0.6

can not update to v 8.0.0.6

    I am unable to update from v 8.0.0.5.

    The control panel shows two versions of marketxls, but will not allow them to be removed, giving the error messages: (1) windows can not find application\... and (2) there is a problem with this windows installer package, a program required for the install to complete could not be run. Contact your support or vendor.

    Can you advise how to proceed?

    I'm having the same problem - 2 versions and can't uninstall...

    I got past this problem - just tried something and it worked (uninstall that is)...in control panel, right click on one of your existing MarketXLS installs and see if you can uninstall one of them - that worked for me...on the remaining one, I got the error you mentioned. I right-clicked on the remaining one and chose Repair to see if that had an effect - it seemed to complete successfully...then, I was able to uninstall.

    HOWEVER, now I'm experiencing what another user wrote - Refresh All is doing nothing...moving to that thread now!

    The refresh all, I have just created a revision on the same link. There was a bug, its now fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Thanks Razzbee, I also tried repair followed by uninstall, but it did not help.

    Hi Ellis,

    Ok, lets try and install the new version on the top of what you have right now? What happens then?

    Also, lets try, windows search, type cmd, right click and run as administrator and then run this command.
    rundll32 dfshim CleanOnlineAppCache

    (1) Install attempt over the top of the existing version fails with the attached message.
    (2) cleaned cashe as instructed, but still no success.

    I cannot install the new version.
    I used Revo uninstaller with success, however, when I try to install the new version I get an error that the old version needs to be uninstalled first. I checked with Win's uninstall and Revo's, neither reports marketxls as an installed program.

    Hi Skip,

    When you go to control panel, on the top right, search for MarketXLS. It looks like you have multiple old versions install. This search will let you know if you do. And then uninstall the old version which is probably still installed.

    Control Panel doesn't find 'MarketXLS' when I look for it in the top right...
    I also checked with the Control Panel -> Uninstall programs and there is not a 'marketxls'.
    Same result from Revo Uninstaller.

    Ahhh, I managed to install 8.0.0.6.
    From another thread related to an install problem, I downloaded 8.0.0.4 and did a fresh install, followed by an uninstall.
    8.0.0.6 installed without error this time.

    However, this msi file was downloaded after the email announcement.
    There is a a newer version now?

    8.0.0.6 is the latest version.

    No URL found for this tracker ID

    I get this error when I click on the MSI (installer) file in the update email. How do I get to the installer?
