Install MarketXLS on Mac or Excel for the web
Add the MarketXLS Microsoft 365 add-in from AppSource and open its task pane.
Install the Microsoft 365 add-in from Excel. You don't need the Windows installer, a COM add-in, or VBA.
Install the add-in
- Open Excel on your Mac or open Excel in a web browser.
- Open Add-ins from the Excel ribbon. The command can also appear under Home or Insert, depending on your Excel version.
- Search Microsoft AppSource for MarketXLS.
- Select the MarketXLS listing.
- Select Add, and then accept the Microsoft prompt.
- Open MarketXLS (Web) from the ribbon.
- Sign in with the email address for your MarketXLS subscription.

Confirm the installation
- Open a blank workbook.
- Select MarketXLS (Web) in the ribbon.
- Confirm that the MarketXLS task pane opens.
- In an empty cell, enter
=mxls.Last("MSFT").

Capture the signed-out task pane with personal account details hidden.

When the cell returns a value, the custom-functions runtime is active.
If the add-in doesn't appear
Confirm that you signed in to Excel with the same Microsoft account that you used to add MarketXLS. Then open the Add-ins menu and select MarketXLS again.
If Excel shows #NAME?, follow Fix a #NAME? error.
