Install MarketXLS on Mac or Excel for the web

Add the MarketXLS Microsoft 365 add-in from AppSource and open its task pane.

Install the Microsoft 365 add-in from Excel. You don't need the Windows installer, a COM add-in, or VBA.

Install the add-in

  1. Open Excel on your Mac or open Excel in a web browser.
  2. Open Add-ins from the Excel ribbon. The command can also appear under Home or Insert, depending on your Excel version.
  3. Search Microsoft AppSource for MarketXLS.
  4. Select the MarketXLS listing.
  5. Select Add, and then accept the Microsoft prompt.
  6. Open MarketXLS (Web) from the ribbon.
  7. Sign in with the email address for your MarketXLS subscription.
Install the Microsoft 365 add-in from the current MarketXLS AppSource listing.

You can also start from the MarketXLS listing in Microsoft AppSource.

Confirm the installation

  1. Open a blank workbook.
  2. Select MarketXLS (Web) in the ribbon.
  3. Confirm that the MarketXLS task pane opens.
  4. In an empty cell, enter =mxls.Last("MSFT").
Open MarketXLS (Web) from the ribbon after installation.
The task pane is the sign-in and status center for the Microsoft 365 add-in.

When the cell returns a value, the custom-functions runtime is active.

If the add-in doesn't appear

Confirm that you signed in to Excel with the same Microsoft account that you used to add MarketXLS. Then open the Add-ins menu and select MarketXLS again.

If Excel shows #NAME?, follow Fix a #NAME? error.
